I played recently.

Having been so busy lately, I've not had the chance to get out and play.
Enjoy! These are some of my favorites from the day. It was so fun to see items around my home through the lens.

I love my hydrangea, it's still little but it blooms so nicely. It's and Endless Summer variety, and I've decided that I definitely need another one. This time, I'm going to plant it in the ground and not a big pot! I am amazed at how much water these take when planted in a pot.

Meet Little Miss E!

She's just turned one, and we had a great time in the Gardens before I became super busy with VBS at church. Her Mom and Dad have been very patient while I proof her session, but I understand how anxious they are to see some from that day. I have not posted her preview before now, because honestly I'm having a tough time narrowing down my favorites. I like to only post one or two from a session so I can leave the best images for the parents to see first.

These are among my favorite images. In each I can hear her giggles, see her funny faces, and melt again at one of the very few smiles I've ever seen from this gorgeous little one.

I think this one looks like she just spotted a fish! Not sure what she actually saw, but this one made me smile.

I just love her little scrunched up nose in this one. She was so happy in the basket for this part of the session.

Look M, we got one with the balloon! :)

That smile will melt your heart! She doesn't grace me with that smile often, but she knows that it makes it even more beautiful to behold.

I wonder if she was thinking "Lady, put that camera down! I'm done with taking pictures."

M, the rest of your proofs will be up soon! Thanks for letting me capture your daughter's first year!

Baseball Season 2007 is over!

and what a season it was. Business-wise I had a great time taking all the action shots (and yes I'm leaving those up for the teams for a little while longer).

I do not have releases on most of the players I photographed this year, but I will show off my son. He told us today that he was sad baseball was over, and he was going to miss it. I wonder if it is bad of me to be glad it was over. In the past 2 weeks we were at the ballfield every night but 2. He had a great season, and his team did GREAT. I'm extremely proud of them and all they accomplished this year.

Are you as thankful for the rain as I am?

I was sitting at the computer this afternoon, working on getting my son's baseball team's action photos converted to jpegs to put on a disc for everyone, when the weather alarm went off warning us of a severe thunderstorm. I opened the windows and the most glorious sight met my eyes: big, heavy, grey clouds. The wind was blowing the leaves on the trees, and the swings in the backyard were swaying the stiff breeze. I knew, if I went outside I could smell the rain coming. That unique scent of rain coming is one I absolutely adore. So, I opened up the blinds, and while I returned emails and watched the photos batch convert to jpegs, I watched the storm roll in. The rain coming down was a welcome sight, and I could almost see the ground, grass, flowers, and trees sighing in relief for the rain.

Rain. Glorious rain.

Now, lets all hope it does not rain out the ballgames tonight!
